Your money or your life, the classic of classics, the book parent, one of the five best books I have ever read in my life.
Very nice to sit here on holiday and be able to indicate this book and talk a little about it.
This book does not know if it is translated into Portuguese, I read it in English (that’s looking for you have to learn English? Many good sources for free. If you do not know English will be reading Gustavo Cerbasi thinking they will learn something). If you have a mobile phone or a PC at home has everything you need to learn English, just do not learn if you do not want. Decrease without time on social networks and go learn English. Friendly advice.
Vicki Robin … What is this author?
First, Vicki Robin is a woman (I think it was a man).
Vicki Robin was the first person who spoke to me more important things in this sense, I would say it took me out of Plato’s cave. Even I made a post about it (one of the best posts of this blog and one of the most accessible, to view click here: https://frugalsimples.blogspot.com.br/2017/03/voce-na-caverna-de-platao. html
for bloggers friends and Finance enthusiasts and behavior I point this book with 5 stars, it is the duty of any financial educator reading this book. If you are a saver or investor also has to read this book to learn science than doing, how and why. it’s not a book analyst firms, stock exchanges, fixed income, real estate funds, none of that. I would say that this is the kind of book you have to read before you even start to invest a measly penny, it is an investment you make in your mindset, philosophy, and spirituality.
I liked this book so much, that if you asked me to indicate ONLY a book to a person read about finances, I would say only this: Your Money or your Life.
Interestingly, last year I did a post about the best book I read in 2015, you can see by clicking here: https://frugalsimples.blogspot.com.br/2017/03/o-melhor-livro-que-li- in-2015.html
it was not a book of Finance, but a novel with many life lessons, morals, behavior, society, and way of thinking. The bright Ayn Rand, Russian, spoke as one about individual freedom and how we have to walk our own path.
I did not want to summarize the book Your Money or Your Life for you because that’s not my goal here. The main objective is to draw attention to reading the book (who can read it), the other goal is to talk about what the book says, Financial Independence. Yes, herself whenever she and indeed, the book will make you understand DEEPLY what is it, what would that be, how would you, why should you want it and how his life would turn AFTER this. It was pretty funny in pobreta blog that he was speaking in his IF, would be Camaro, Panicats, Beaches, etc … it is a perspective, but the IF is much more to it, as you will read in the book.
Speaking briefly about the book, Vicki brings us important lessons for living the life of a full and full form of achievements, and many of the things she said to me I used here to make a full post, for example, when she said to “Make peace with your past.” I used this simple phrase to make this post: https://frugalsimples.blogspot.com.br/2017/03/nunca-foi-entre-voce-e-os-outros.html and by the way enjoyed.
In the life of a blog I recognize that there are good posts, bad posts, very basic posts, posts to speak of the blogger himself (these are the least favorite) posts “to teach,” posts to entertain, others funny and so go. We will migrate from one to another according to the day and the mood and disposition, remembering that here is voluntary and does not give any money, but I write for pleasure and I intend to help you the reader, to repay a little help I have received dozens of people, it is that this book indicate.
We need mentors, we need references, signs, websites, books, learn ways of living, we need to fill gaps that our family did not teach us, or our school or our faculty and even things that only life teaches. And in all these gaps I found this book that fit like a glove. It was the first response that had a satisfactory internal question “Why do you want to be rich?” I did not respond fully to this question before reading this book, only imagined bills paid, the day off and satisfaction of not having to face alarm clock every day and to answer to anyone. Thankfully, the greater truth is far from it.
As we live in Brazil and here to be rich is a crime and sin, this is a book that comes in handy. You need not be ashamed to say I want to be rich, and more than ever, after reading this book will not be more ashamed same! The others smallness, ignorance, and mediocrity that sometimes contaminate the will out of time after you read this book.
The main purpose of this book is to transform your relationship with money. Not only this obvious thing to earn, spend, save, invest. The purpose of all this includes the TIME that all these things suck your life and keep in mind that your relationship with money, satisfaction and joy of living, your connection to your family, your spouse, your community and the world itself has a lot to do with it. There’s no use making connections between all these things, the money and the time that you arrange on the planet to do the things you like and feel pleasure.
Of course, you do not have to be rich to be happy or have to retire early and spend life on the beach doing nothing. What you (and me) and we all need is to have a good relationship with money, with our free time with our work, family, friends and community, and we live well. The book is not just about early retirement, it’s about connection than it would be with the rest of your life.
Fortunately it is a very BASIC book that will help you get organized from the start, with important information such as how much you earn per hour of work, how much you spend by commodity in núimero working hours (two basic things people do not realize) the when any purchase can you enslave, which is the conscious consumption, which is to have your life in your own hands and finally the book helps you trace a path, a route, a complete package of thoughts, feelings, and attitudes to transform your way of thinking. NOT SELF-HELP! Let that be clear!
It is a BASIC book. Not a boring book, or a technical book about finance, is a light and quiet book reading, with many valuable lessons. I would say if you were to read a book in 2017, read this. It has very few formulas, basic thing to divide and multiply that children 12 years old can do.
This book has over 25 years of already published, is a book of 1992. And it’s a shame it has not translated into Portuguese (not sure), for the average Brazilian VERY need to read this book.
If you do not know English, this is a great opportunity to learn, buy the book, picks up the dictionary or so the translator google and go ahead (I prefer the dictionary of English-English even have a paper to buy or PC even ). It’s good to learn English by reading a good text and with interest.
I do not want to dwell too. The tip is given. It’s up to you.
Good holiday everyone.
